Romantasy BookCon Orlando 2026: Authors, Events, Tickets & Everything You Need to Know

Florida is currently my home state, so if you’re heading to the Romantasy BookCon here, I’ll send up a prayer for no-freaking-rain…and the best character art.

Jump to the Details

Rain or not, Romantasy BookCon Orlando 2026 is happening October 22–24. So get ready for a weekend of fantasy authors gone wild (well as wild as fantasy authors tend to go anyway) and buying all of the books. And if you’re lucky enough to join the Midnight Masquerade, don’t forget to bring the sparkliest dress you own.

Fabled Fantasy Events is bringing together romantasy authors including Adalyn Grace, Elise Kova, LJ Andrews, Melissa K. Roehrich and Tracy Wolff at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista. This year you’ll have three whole days of signings, panels, workshops and reader events. And, yes, an actual fantasy ball. Squee.

If you followed our ApollyCon 2026 coverage, you’ll know I have a soft spot for these conventions. What do you mean there will be an entire hotel full of adults dressed as fairies and princesses and discussing fantasy men like they are totally real? Sounds like a perfectly normal weekend to me! So let’s dive in. Here are the dates, authors, ticket details and practical bits worth grabbing before Thursday.

Which Authors Are Attending Romantasy BookCon Orlando 2026?

The lineup has a lovely little mix-up of established fantasy romance names, indie romantasy favorites and a bit inbetween. If your shelves are already overflowing with cursed kingdoms, dangerous men and fae royalty, I am afraid you are going to have to buy another bookshelf. It’s a must!

  • Adalyn Grace — Belladonna
  • Elise Kova — Air Awakens and A Deal with the Elf King
  • LJ Andrews — The Ever King and The Broken Kingdoms
  • Melissa K. Roehrich — Lady of Darkness and Legacy
  • Tracy Wolff — Crave

Just take a gander of all the indie writers we have this year again. Indie authors are getting the clout they finally deserve. And it’s thanks to vocal readers who have spread all their love of stories, and read one too many KU’s. Go us!

Can You Meet Every Author?

Not necessarily. Some popular author signings use designated time slots that require advance registration through the event app. Other authors sign at their booths, sometimes with their own limits. A ticket to the convention doesn’t guarantee a signing with a particular writer, so check those arrangements before you stand in a really long queue and kick yourself.

Romantasy BookCon Orlando 2026 Schedule: What Happens Each Day?

The convention runs Thursday through Saturday, with the main exhibition hall open on Friday and Saturday. The official Eventbrite agenda lists Thursday registration from 4–10 PM, the Literary Libations welcome event from 7–9 PM, and the High Fae Soiree from 7–9 PM. Friday and Saturday session-by-session arrangements and designated author signing slots should still be checked in the event app.

Thursday, October 22 — Welcome Events

Thursday starts with welcome-party experiences for premium-ticket attendees. High Lady/Lord ticket holders have the Literary Libations welcome party, while High Fae attendees have the High Fae Soiree. These gatherings are an amazing chance to meet fellow readers before the main signing-hall crush begins, you know, make all the friends first. Especially if you’re attending solo and would quite like to find someone who understands why romance fantasy is not the same as romantasy, and which fictional boyfriend is actually worth dating.

Friday, October 23 — Signings, Panels and Workshops

Friday is the first big convention-hall day, so think author booths, vendors, workshops, panels and an even an onsite bookstore. Which is so cool, you can meet friends, get recs, and then buy them right away. High Lady/Lord and High Fae tiers include early hall access. Tattoo artists are also scheduled onsite, which is such a neat idea. I’m not a tattoo person, I change my mind too much, but these artists are going to expect all the fandom-esque tats and be super prepared.

Saturday, October 24 — More Books and the Midnight Masquerade

Saturday brings further signings, shopping, workshops and panels, followed by one of the headline experiences, namely, the Midnight Masquerade. I expect sparkles, gems, and maybe even pirates. It should look royal court gone mad by the end. Also, if you’re going, take pictures I beg of you. I need to see every outfit combo. As ever, the app will have more info.

What Is the Midnight Masquerade?

It’s the convention’s fantasy-ball experience. This is fairly common in fantasy circles. Basically, everyone dresses up as if they’re straight out of the House of Night then do some dancing, make some friends, and drink strangely colored punch. It’s a fantastic idea, and long may it reign. This ball is included with the relevant premium ticket tiers and separately advertised as a ball-only ticket. The organizer lists ball-only admission at $150, but check the live booking page before making plans.

Are Romantasy BookCon Orlando 2026 Tickets Still Available?

As of October 19, the organiser lists the main convention tiers as sold out, while separate masquerade tickets are advertised. The official Eventbrite booking page is where to check live sales; the table below shows advertised prices, not a guarantee that tickets can still be purchased.

Practical Bits Worth Knowing Before You Go

  • Get the event app: Confirmed attendees should use the Orlando-specific app for scheduling updates and designated author signings.
  • Check signing limits: Ticketed signings have a three-item limit; general-booth authors may set their own rules.
  • Choose your book cart carefully: Standard rolling, top-loading book carts are allowed, but suitcases and wagons are discouraged.
  • Confirm pre-order collection: Book pre-orders and onsite bookstore purchases follow their own arrangements; buying a book doesn’t guarantee a signing.
  • Check age restrictions: Fae admission is 18+, while High Fae and High Lady/Lord packages are 21+.
  • Parking: Room-block guests receive discounted parking; other attendees can ask at the convention registration desk about discounted vouchers.
  • Accessibility: Contact the organisers about accessibility arrangements and companion passes.

Why Romantasy BookCon Is Worth Watching

I think the fascinating part of dedicated romantasy conventions is how much they show the genre becoming a community in its own right. We are here to stay and we’re bringing the magic to the real world. But with a mass following, and growing numbers of fans every year (which the authors deserve) I’m interested to see how these events are going to manage demand. I’d hate to see ticket prices becoming so extreme, that only the ultra wealthy, or lucky, can attend. Reading should be for everyone. And readers from all walks of life are saved, comforted, and inspired daily by the books they read, so of course are dying to meet their fave authors. This shouldn’t go away. So I say more conventions more tours please and thank you.

Fabled Fantasy is already advertising future events, including Los Angeles, Scotland and Orlando in 2027. So this particular Florida weekend is part of a much bigger calendar now, which is great.

Show Me The Things

I’d love to see the photos, hear which author everyone queued for, and find out whether the Midnight Masquerade is an magical as it sounds. Throw everything up on the socials, those of us with too many responsibilities to attend are living vicariously through you.
